Earning DKP

DKP will be earned ONLY by those on the raid; invite priority goes to Raiders first. All persons attending a raid will receive DKP regardless of rank. You will be awarded points for being on-time to a raid and for boss kills. On-time means you are online, repaired, have flasks/pots/elixirs/etc, and are at the zone ready to go when pulls should be starting; if the raid is waiting on you then you're not on-time and you don't get DKP.

Raid leaders will post raid times and this is the time you should be logged in ready for an invite and 1st pulls will be happening no later than 30min after. If at the 30min mark the class makeup or numbers do not allow for the raid to progress those present will be awarded on-time DKP.

These are the respective DKP points awarded per zone. As we progress these will be reanalyzed and can change.

  • Kara/ZA – no DKP
  • Bosses on farm (killed at least 5x) - 1pt on-time; 3pts/boss kill
  • Bosses not on farm (killed <5x) – 1pt on-time; 5pts/boss kill
  • New attempts on a boss will have hourly dkp awarded at 1 DKP/hr, and this will continue until the boss is killed for the 1st time.
  • Bosses killed for the 1st time will have an additional 5 DKP awarded to those present.

Upon the implementation of the DKP system all players level 70 will be awarded 10 DKP points; alts will not be awarded these points.

Spending DKP

DKP will be spent via a silent bid system; minimum bid is 5 DKP. If you are on the raid you have the right to spend DKP, so at this point Raider/Member has no effect (the only restriction would be to Trials). When an item drops it will be announced who to send bids to for that item. If you are bidding as a main spec you just need to send a bid; if you are bidding for off-spec please specify that with your bid. Bids start at 5 DKP and you cannot bid more than you have (i.e. if you have 50 DKP you cannot bid 55). Loot will go according to bid in this order: main spec > off spec/alts > trials.

The highest bidder will be awarded the item at the 2nd highest bid + 5 DKP (e.g. Player01 bids 50 DKP, Player02 bids 30 DKP, Player01 receives item for 35 DKP). If there is a tie /random will determine the winner and the winner will receive the item for their bid + 5 DKP. If there is only 1 representative for a class and an item drops that is class specific, and that person can use the item, they will be awarded the item for 5 DKP.

People will not be able to accumulate negative DKP. Think of DKP as the money you get from a paycheck, so you cannot overdraw or take out loans against your DKP. At the start of a raid you only have the current DKP in your 'account' to spend; payday doesn't happen until AFTER a raid so the DKP you've earned during a raid will not be available until the next raid. In the instance that someone wins an item for their max amount of DKP and the +5 DKP 'tax' takes them into the negative, they will not be able to bid on items until they are out of the negative (hopefully payday takes care of this).
